What can you do with a wiki

What's a Wiki good for?

Course Syllabus

A syllabus wiki will allow you to link directly to other online resources-- your COD homepage, your email address, College documents, and more.  Because you're using a wiki, rather than a static html webpage, you can make changes quickly and easily as the need arises.

Classroom

Use a wiki as your course management system.  By making a wiki the "home" for your course, you can easily control your content, use the space as a clearinghouse for class information, even hold virtual office hours using the chat interfaces available through some wikis.  The flexibility of wikis mean that there are very few limits as to what you can do with them!

Group Project

Make collaboration easier for your students by having them work together using a wiki.  A wiki space can be a place for students to share their ideas before presenting on a topic or can be the location of their final work.  As an "administrator" you will have access to your students' pages and be available to monitor their work and help them as they proceed.
